UNION/YOGA CHAKRA TUNING and PANCHAMAMA RETREAT
Sacred Valley, Willka T’ika, Machu Picchu
With Sandra Carden, ERYT 500 and Field Carden, CYT 200
Eight Days, Seven Nights March 25 – April 1, 2014
Light and sound made manifest as you: Vibration, Attunement, Transformation
We are energy beings, bodies formed in synchronicity with the unique energetic field which defines each of us. In this workshop, we will explore the ancient yogic study of pranamayakosha–the energetic body–and how we communicate with ourselves through that. We will use asana (yoga postures) pranayama (breathing technique) and samyama, three-fold meditative absorption to discover where we are free, where we are blocked, and how to release old binds safely and compassionately. This workshop will be especially useful for those about to make important decisions. We will practice hathayoga in both Yin style, slowly and safely, and a more energetic Yang vinyasa style.
Come with your inner questions open to revelation and resolution– your body/mind knows the truth. You just need to be still enough to hear. Your Magical Journey at Willka T’ika consists of your daily chakra-centered yoga and meditation practice, participation in ancient Incan ceremonies and a guided overnight at the sacred Machu Picchu ruins in the Peruvian Sacred Valley.
Pachamama Retreat is the ideal program for those students of yoga, meditation, artistic and other spiritual modalities who would like to experience the major highlights of Machu Picchu, and the Sacred Valley sites, while allowing ample time for your own yoga at Willka T’ika Guesthouse. On select days this program includes professionally guided tours and ceremonies. The quality and variety of offerings in this eight-day program ensure that participants experience a fully Magical Journey to Peru.
Willka T’ika, the perfect base for yoga and spiritual groups, allows guests time to tune into the pure Sacred Valley energies, meditate or relax in the wonderful Chakra Gardens. Our group is free to practice yoga in beautiful sun-filled studios with hardwood floors, or meditate and receive teachings in other beautiful garden structures. Each day there is ample time to tap into authentic Andean spirituality and experience the traditional and cultural wonders of Peru and its people. Willka T’ika is a retreat conceived, built and maintained on sustainable principles, where you will savor gourmet organic vegetarian meals and fully relax in your garden accommodation. For the active, there are many hikes to explore and additional adventure activities to enjoy in the area.

Pachamama Retreat Itinerary
Please schedule flights to arrive in Cuzco on March 25, 2014, before 11 am. For those already with us in Peru, GoAhead Tours will handle air flight transfer from Juliaca to Cuzco, with our GoAhead Tour. There may be an additional fee for the transfer flight.
Tuesday, March 25, Day One:
Your Magical Journey program begins with one group transfer from the Cuzco airport to Willka T’ika Guesthouse in the heart of the Sacred Valley, driving through spectacular Andean mountain scenery and stopping to meditate within the mysterious and magical Moray agricultural circles. At Willka T’ika guests will be housed in lovely Garden Rooms with private bathrooms. Group Orientation and welcome dinner is included.
Wednesday, March 26, Day Two:
An Ayni day. Ayni is the Way of Reciprocity, the most important of Andean sacred principals. Welcome the sparkling energies of the day with a drive through the Sacred Valley to an Andean mountain school. For eighteen years, Willka T’ika has maintained contact with dedicated schoolteachers and traditionally dressed pupils in isolated high mountain communities where few tourists are privileged to visit. The nonprofit Willka T'ika Children's Fund supports educational programs in four Quechua mountain schools. With each visit groups see how Andean communities so dear to our hearts are progressing. In a reciprocal ayni exchange, the group offers an activity the children will enjoy. The warmth and joy of the children and their openness in bringing guests into their daily lives are special moments not easily forgotten. Visitors always are humbled and deeply moved by this heart-opening morning.
The group continues with its guide to the spectacular ruins of P’isaq. Overlooking impressive Incan terraces, the group is invited to hike to the Incan Temple of the Sun, a doorway to the upper Andean world of the Condor, messenger of the Gods. Here the group might meditate or walk in a silent personal vision quest to open the third eye. Return to the P’isaq market by bus. Lunch is on your own in the market square filled with woven goods, jewelry, colorful wall hangings and hand-painted beadwork. Observe colorfully dressed campesinos wearing traditional clothing coming to barter and sell their produce. P’isaq is a photographer's dream. Return to Willka T’ika with time for late afternoon yoga with Sandra at Willka T’ika. Breakfast and dinner are included today.
Thursday, March 27, Day Three:
After early morning group activity, enjoy a buffet breakfast at 8.30 am. This day is dedicated to connecting to Pachamama, and in addition to Sandra Carden’s Chakra Yoga program. Full tour is offered of the Seven Chakra Gardens. Guests are encouraged to relax or meditate in the splendors of Nature. Your guide will offer an hour’s stroll through the Rumichaka farming neighborhood to see where the Quechua campesinos live. Lunch is served punctually at 1 pm.
In the afternoon your guide will translate for those wanting to schedule a brief private coca-leaf reading with a Qero healer. Pay a $5 donation directly to him. There is also time to indulge in one of many Andean Spa offerings, or choose from a list of varied optional activities. After dinner at 6.30 pm, your group is invited to participate in an Andean offering to honor Pachamama, Mother Earth. Since pre-Incan times, this ceremony has been practiced by the Quechua. An authentic Qero pakko healer and ritual specialist will conduct this special ceremony for personal healing and the well-being of the group. It concludes with a transformative fire ceremony that carries the group essence into the Andean spirit-filled world, and serves as a wonderful preparation of mind, body and spirit for your pilgrimage to Machu Picchu. All meals are provided today.
Friday, March 28, Day Four:
The group will rise early for a full day at Machu Picchu. From the train, to Aguas Calientes, a bus then takes you to the sunlit terraces of Machu Picchu. Enjoy a fabulous guided tour of the ancient “City of Light.” Experience a journey through the masculine energy temples of political and spiritual power, followed by a deep reconnection of feminine earth energies within the Divine Self. Picnic lunch is provided to save you time. In the afternoon, hike to the Inti Punku, the original Incan Gateway to the Sun or take an even more challenging hike to spectacular Machu Picchu Peak. Magical Journey invites the group to a delicious celebratory three-course dinner in one of the finest restaurants in Aguas Calientes. Be ready at 6.30 pm in the hotel lobby All meals provided today.
Saturday, March 29, Day Five: Purchase a second day bus and entrance ticket to return to Machu Picchu (budget $60) from your hotel in Aguas Calientes. The more energetic may wish to leave on the sunrise 5:30 AM bus to enjoy the views or meditate in the crisp morning energies of Machu Picchu. Others may hike on a most invigorating and spectacular path that leads you away from the masses of tourists and up to the spectacular Machu Picchu Mountain Peak. Or, choose the ticket option to enjoy a more leisurely hike to the Inti Punku, Gateway to the Sun, the original Incan entrance to the city. The group will meet in the hotel lobby for an afternoon train back to Ollantaytampu, with a transfer to Willka T'ika in time for dinner. Breakfast and dinner are provided today.
Sunday, March 30, Day Six
Sandra Carden has created a wonderful workshop for a portion of today, focused on intuitive intention-setting guided through your chakra readings. We will use asana and meditation, intonation and journaling to clear out old patterns and to lay the ground for prana-infused actuation of your dharmic purpose. You will meditate in the Chakra Gardens of your choice, and receive the ancestral crown chakra energies beneath the 1000-year-old lucuma tree. For those seeking more outward-focused activity, follow a map to hike along zigzag paths of the fascinating ancient Maras salt farms or a variety of other hikes and activities through the valley and up the mountains. After lunch, afternoon Andean massages, Breema and crystal light therapy healing sessions, from John of God in Brazil, are available to pamper the body. All meals are included today.
Monday, March 31, Day Seven:
This day at Willka T’ika is tailored to our group. Early morning yoga and meditation is followed by buffet breakfast. When not in a program, groups may hike into the town of Urubamba, visit the market, eat lunch, and visit the famous Seminario pottery factory or a nearby local alpaca store. In the afternoon you may choose an optional activity, indulge in the energies of the Chakra Gardens or enjoy a spa treatment before our afternoon group yoga and meditation session. We will commune and celebrate with a farewell dinner at Willka T’ika. All meals are included today.
